Message | I am not proposing our National Defences be downgraded. I do propose however, that the Direction of our National defences be altered to one that doesnt Have Nuclear Weapons. Nuclear Weapons are no good for any body, because the result of a nuclear war would be mutual destruction for all involved. If we remove our Nuclear arsenal, this would allow us to put more funding into other areas of our millitary which are more useful, such as ground forces that can be used in humanitarian and peacekeeping missions around the world. |

Message | "I am not proposing our National Defences be downgraded." By the very nature of the bill, you are asking the Baltusian people to give up the weapons that safeguard their freedom. It is a downgrade of our national defence. "Nuclear Weapons are no good for any body" Last time Baltusia was involved in a war? Anyone? 2089 (ish) was the closest we came in the last three centuries. "would be mutual destruction for all involved" Hence the policy of Mutually Assured Destruction which keeps nuclear powers in check. |

Message | "Last time Baltusia was involved in a war? Anyone? 2089 (ish) was the closest we came in the last three centuries." This just shows that we do not need an expensive and unproductive tool such as nuclear weapons. "By the very nature of the bill, you are asking the Baltusian people to give up the weapons that safeguard their freedom. It is a downgrade of our national defence." Its not downgrading, but a reasssesment. We need to reasses our millitary and not have expensive useless weapons, but a well trained and well equiped millitary that can be quickly deploid for any millitary or humanitarian reason, at home or abroad. |

Message | "This just shows that we do not need an expensive and unproductive tool such as nuclear weapons." How do you know that expansionist nations like Deltaria haven't invaded us because of our nuclear arsenal? Seems pretty naive just to write it off like that. "but a well trained and well equiped millitary that can be quickly deploid for any millitary or humanitarian reason" We have a well trained and well equipped military, particularly in the air force. Nuclear weapons constitute a realtively small amount of funding compared to simply paying the million odd professional soldiers we have. |
