Bill: Religious School Legalization
Details
Submitted by[?]: Maroon Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2082
Description[?]:
Why should we discriminate against religious schools? As long as the students are there voluntarily, and the schools comply with the same regulations as nonreligious schools, there is no reason we should embark on a policy of atheism. We should tolerate all religions, which is why all religious people must be allowed to set up schools--the way that atheists and nonreligious people are. Let us be equal in freedom, not in servitude. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The governments stance on religious schools.
Old value:: Religious schools are not allowed.
Current: Only recognised religions may set up religious schools, with no regulations.
Proposed: Any religion may set up a school, but they are strictly regulated.

Date | 21:17:39, July 19, 2005 CET | From | Free Citizens Alliance | To | Debating the Religious School Legalization |
Message | We support this, seeing that is an easing of the public monopoly on education. However, fully down the line, we would like to see private, religious schools be left to do as they see fit without government interference. |
