Bill: A Bill For The Well-Being Of Humans

Details

Submitted by[?]: AM Populist Social Democrats

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2355

Description[?]:

Whereas, We fully believe and accept that people have a right to choose to be organ donors or choose not to be organ donors, but

Whereas, We strongly object to the presumption in current law that they have chosen to refuse to be donors if no preference has been expressed, given that people need no organs after death and those organs, if used, could save the lives of others, and

Whereas, We furthermore would far rather that dangers of cosmetic products be discovered through animal testing rather than the only alternative of testing on humans,

We hereby propose that the organs of the dead be available for transplantation when the person who has died has expressed no preference, and that cosmetic products may again, with regulations to be certain of humane treatment, be tested again on animals.

MessageWe will support Article 2, however Article 1 is ridiculous. That we would subject animals to invasive, painful and often fatal tests, for the benefit of the fashion industry, is laughable.

If cosmetics are potentially hazardous, they are by no means essential. Abandon them.

The only way we could support Article one, is if the Bill was worded to exclude almost all cosmetics, and to include only those that could be defined as necessary for medical reasons.
