Bill: Justice Reform Bill of 2357
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Party of Dorvik
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2358
Description[?]:
Paying legal representation of defendants who can adequately pay it themselves is expensive & irrational, and the new law would help the low-income defendants due to better concentration of funding. Good health is a value which no-one can afford to lose and that is why losing it should be compensated without limitations in the amount of compensation for a victim. Even if the huge sum of money can't make up the lost health, it will definately bring comfort and force health care personnel to better responsibility & care, thus decreasing mistreatment cases. Courts can make responsible decisions in ordering monetary compensations for victim(s). * Kevin Campbell, Senator and Member of the Senate Justice Committee |

Message | It's sad how the LSPD and GC(VU) want to prop up even wealthy criminals such as mafiosos with the tax payers' money to provide them legal representative, not to mention setting a limit for compensation of people's invaluable health. We hope the GFP don't think like this way but makes independent decision as an independent party and votes for this legislation proposal. |
Date | 02:18:15, February 10, 2007 CET | From | Green Freedom Party | To | Debating the Justice Reform Bill of 2357 |
Message | We are conflicted by this bill. We are willing to vote either way on article I. On article II, we believe that it could cause runaway lawsuits, although we do trust the judiciary to prevent such a thing. However, we will oppose. (Sorry, MPD.) |

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life brand names (eg. Coca Cola, McDonalds, Microsoft). However, in the case of military equipment brand names it is permitted to use simple number-letter combinations (eg. T-90 and F-22) borrowed from real life, and also simple generic names, like those of animals (eg. Leopard and Jaguar). |
Random quote: "Anarchy is the true nature of all things. Monarchy, democracy, communism, all useless forms to control the human mind. But a mind cannot be controlled. It cannot be restrained. It has no boundaries. It has its will. Anarchy is the true nature of all things." - Alex Battig |
