Bill: Retirement Reform Act of 2358

Details

Submitted by[?]: Orange Liberty Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2360

Description[?]:

It is not the place of the government to tax the people for their own care. Citizens can prepare for their own retirement better than the government through investment and savings, using the same funds that are now being taxed out of their wages. By preparing for their own retirement, the people also learn how to better manage their budgets and achieve greater fiscal independence.

MessageWe should take care of our people, and if they save up for their own retirement, they wont be retired because Lodamun is a very social place to live in and the quality of life is so high because we take good care of our citizens.

MessageThe OLP feels that the federal government is too far-reaching, and that the compulsory public pension system is one of the most unnecessary of its behaviors. Citizens will appreciate not being taxed their entire lives for something they are fully able to do on their own, or that their employer may already provide them.

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset.

Random quote: "Religion, like capitalism, will perish in the end. We estimate the complete Terra-wide extinction of Hosianism as a religious belief by the year 4409, and in Dorvik by 4398." - Friedrich Pfeiffer, former Dorvish politician
