Bill: The Anti God-Tax Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Aldegar Freedom Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2363
Description[?]:
The True Conservative Party believes that the nation's current policy on the taxation of churches - that is, that churches are treated as if they are companies - is outrageous. The True Conservative Party demands that churches, which are non-profit organisations, be treated as such, as aposed to being treated as a company that operates for profit. Therefore, The True Conservative Party urges that churches do not pay any form of tax whatsoever. Forcing churches to pay taxes when the only income they receive goes towards maintaining the church facilities for the benefit of the public is rediculous, especially considering that donations in churches are not mandatory - rather, they are optional. You cannot put a price on God. However, the True Conservative Party believes that only recognised religions - ie. Christianity, Catholocism, etc, should be exempt from tax. |

Message | The ALSP can not support this proposal in it's current form. If you however change the proposal to give exemption from tax equally to all organizations that work with religions and/or other kinds of world view then we can perhaps support it. |

Message | The TCP believe in rationality and comprimise - these are, afterall, traits that are crucial to democracy. And, although it is slightly contrary to the beliefs of the TCP, the TCP has changed this bill to allow tax exemption for all religious institutions, as opposed to only allowing tax exemption for recognised religions. The TCP hopes that the ALSP may now support this bill. |

Message | In a gestur of good will the ALSP has suported a bill that was opposed by a large fraction of the party. We hope this gestur will be returned at a later point in time. |
