Message | "while still allowing foreign capital to stimulate our economy" That's funny. I can't imagine a foreign company investing in Baltusia if they can't take control of the money, potentially take it in a more productive direction and yield greater profits for all. I would further like to highlight (off the point) that profits are what drives the economy. There's no point in corporate top dogs earning so much money if they don't spend it. Inevitably they do and that allows businesses to grow and employ more people to be able to adequately deal with the extra business. In essence, people, regardless of economic class, having money to spend means a healthier economy which raises everyone's standard of living. |

Message | Your not seriously going to argue for a "trickle down" effect are you? |

Message | Yeah may as well. Don't see anything wrong with that other than the people "at the bottom" don't get as much as the people "at the top". But one has to wonder whether in a perfectly egalitarian society if anyone who have anything to strive for? |

Message | You would have something to strive for, in the mutual benefit of yourself and the community you live in. the trickle down affect does not work, because the very anture of capitalism continually puts more and more wealth in the hands of fewer and fewer people. |

Message | "in the mutual benefit of yourself and the community you live in" No doubt. Would as many people strive as hard as they currently do though? Even if we made progress, would it be at an acceptable rate? I fail to see how the greater good is inspiration to work your ass off for forty years. "because the very anture of capitalism continually puts more and more wealth in the hands of fewer and fewer people." That's funny. You've used communist rhetoric to dispute capitalist "theory" (OOC: not in favour of using a scientific term for something as unscientific as economics). Bit of a fallacy until you can actually prove it. |
