Bill: Moderated Importation Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: AM Feminazi Movement
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2360
Description[?]:
Some support has previously been indicated for the LFFR proposal to change import quotas. This proposal was part of a larger proposal by the LFFR, however we now present a slightly weaker proposal in this regard in the hope the convocation may see fit to let it pass. Why should we allow unfettered access to our markets when countries we trade with will slap tarriffs on our goods ? We hope even the libertarian parties can see the logic of an unfair distortion in the market here. Let's level the playing field, and put some extra LIK into the government coffers into the bargain. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change International trade (this is a default in the absense of a specific free trade agreement or specific trade embargo)
Old value:: The nation does not impose any tariffs or quotas on imports.
Current: The nation allows for imports, but imposes "ethical" tariffs on nations with lower environmental and labour rights standards.
Proposed: The nation imposes reciprocal tariffs on imports, with no tariffs imposed on states which impose no tariffs on our exports.

Random fact: The majority of nations in Particracy are "Culturally Protected" with an established cultural background. Only the "Culturally Open" nations are not bound by the rules surrounding culture. The Cultural Protocols Index should be consulted for more information about the cultural situation of each nation. |
