Bill: Term Limit Decrease
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2362
Description[?]:
As a new nation just recently freed from a tyrannical dictatorship, we propose that terms are shorter in length. A young nation will require circulation of power and need to let its people decide if the parties they have elected previously should remain in office. This bill will decrease the term occupation from 3 years to 2 years. If this is implemented into law, our government will be taking a step to further suffrage and free elections. It is to be noted, however, that in time we would support a change and most likely attempt to amend this to 3 years. |

Message | In real life, there will be 4 days in between elections. That's not too little time. And, this is only temporary, so that elections will sort out to normal. The election results that were recently produced were natural for a nation has just recently been freed of a dictatorship. Soon, though, that will change and this bill will help it. This bill will only help quicken the process of putting our nation back onto a track of normal elections that have reasonable backup for what their outcome is. |

Message | Nah, we've been waffling on this issue. We're considering flipping a coin. On the one hand, 2 years is an awfully short time, most nations are at 3. On the other hand... Hm. You know, if you want a quick shot at regaining power, just call for more early elections. Such a measure would probably be defeated, but it's more honest than this. |
