Message | It strikes us as strange that just as the CLP tries to tighten the laws on some substances, they seem to think tobacco laws should be less limited. We wonder if Big Tobacco has become a campaign contributor. |

Message | It seems strange to us that a party with the name "Liberal" is against liberalising tobacco yet hypocritically, they are in favour of liberalising cannabis which does equal or more damage. The "PopLibs" need to decide whether they are in fact a Liberal party and by that I mean a real Liberal party or another populist party which stands for nothing and has nothing to offer. |

Message | We are, in fact, both. Populism is defined differently by different people, and varies depending on whether it is populism of the far left, center left, center right, far right, etc.. Our populism is a populism of the center-left, populism being the majority of the population expressing its anger at others who wish to harm it. We see those who wish to harm it as the wealthy elite foremost, and secondarily religious fanatics, criminals and foreign aggressors, a center-left populism. What ties all populisms together is our support of the average citizen. What makes ours a center-left populism is who we blame for the average citizen's problems. On the issue at hand, we blame big tobacco for deceptively marketing their product, which is less pleasurable to most than alcohol or marijuana, more addictive, and worse for the user's health. In the end, we believe that everyone should be able to choose what they put into their own bodies, even things worse than tobacco or marijuana. However, we are only for unregulated use of alcohol-- which when used in moderation and one does not drive under its influence is completely harmless. |

Message | "However, we are only for unregulated use of alcohol-- which when used in moderation and one does not drive under its influence is completely harmless." Presumably then your party would be willing to allocate funds for drying out centres, counselling services for marriages that have broken down due to domestic violence brought on by alcohol abuse, liver transplants and stomach ulcer treatments ? It is a far more destructive drug than any of the others mentioned. |
