Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2364

Description[?]:

The Space Act would allow the nation to further pursue the creation of spacecraft and satellites with the peaceful intentions of exploration of the heavens and journeys to the celestial bodies. This would also allow the privitization of space industries (through the government distribution of permits to corporations permitted to use outer space), while retaining a federal aeronautics administration.

MessageWe will not.
There is no requirement to change the law as the description is exactly what we already operate. We have a National aeronautics organisation (HSA, or Hobrazian Space Agency I think it was) which contracts with private companies allowing them to operate in space. There is no need to change the law.

We would also point out that we are not a federalised Country. We have no federal government. We are one Country under one government.

Random fact: Moderation will not approve a Cultural Protocol request within the first 48 hours of it being requested. This is in order to give other players a chance to query the proposed changes, if they wish to do so. Moderation may be approached for advice on a proposed change, but any advice proffered should always be understood under the provisio that no final decision will be made until at least 48 hours after the request has been formally submitted for approval.
