Description[?]:
Okay do we really need nuclear bombs right now? Nah, we've got Captain Atom, who is like a flying nuke that can shoot beams of radiation from his fists. Plus there's me, who can pick up entire continents and throw them into space. I used to think I was invincible until some evil guy found some kryptonite. Did I give up and say "OK I promise I won't kill you with superbreath, let's be friends!"? No because some people don't want to be friends, some people are real jerks. What I did was I recruited Wonder Woman, and she kicked the guy's ass! Of course then somebody figured out how to beat the two of us, so we recruited more super help and won again. Soon we were super friends, then a super team, and now we're a whole super league. What's my point? My point is you can't give up on an arms race, promise to stay defenseless and appeal to everybody's good nature, because eventually they'll just destroy you or enslave you or whatever they feel like doing. To evil people who only listen to threats, you have to be a threat. You need to be able to develop and deploy threatening weapons. Just for defense though, you can't go off using this stuff to hurt innocent foreigners. If you did that, Captain Atom would go thermal-nuclear-war on your ass. |

Message | Our nation has spent years trying to enforce our own neutrality. We have a superior conventional force in our region simply because we have stopped wasting money on arms that are only of use as detterents. |

Message | Neutrality is great! These proposals only ensure our neutrality even further, they cause aggressors to think even harder before messing with our neutrality. But I gotta ask, what wastes more money as a deterrent: a superior conventional force or superior technology research? The bomb was used once in my reality. It was really sad because lots of innocent people were killed, but this country with supposedly superior conventional forces surrendered unconditionally within the week. They were imperialist aggressors, but what if they'd been the defenders? A bomb is just a tool, it can be used for good or for evil. Wouldn't you rather not have one dropped on us because the enemy wasn't afraid of reprisal? |

Message | Could you link that treaty? If a proposal violated a treaty, how could I have proposed them? |

Message | Because Particracy's not that flashy yet. We of course will not be supporting this. War and passive-aggresion through developing nuclear weapons is nothing but a detriment to ongoing global peace. |
