Bill: Own, Conceal 'n Carry

Details

Submitted by[?]: Justice League of Cildania

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2365

Description[?]:

Why are guns outlawed and restricted to designated areas? And not that it matters to a dude with X-ray vision, but if it's not cool for the federal government to outlaw concealed weapons, why is it okay for local ones to do it? Lots of people carry guns, and almost all of them are nice and just use the guns for emergency self-defense. But there are a few that don't care what the law is and wish to hurt or extort people. All this law would do is make it more dangerous for those defenseless people that follow the law.

Let's let law-abiding citizens defend themselves, it oughtta be their right I say. Though I do agree people shouldn't have any weapon they want. This one time when Lex Luthor bought a fleet of M-1 tanks... that was a headache, nobody needs a fleet of tanks for self-defense.

MessageWe don't support any concealed carry laws, they don't make any sense, if the point of carrying a gun is to prevent a crime, then let the potential criminal know you have one.
We might actually be persuaded to support the second and articles.

MessageWell right, you would probably take out the weapon for potential criminals, but regular people get understandably nervous if they see weapons, so it's smart to keep them concealed until you might need it.

Which of these proposals are you stuck on?

MessageOkay, I could instead say Some categories of weapon must be carried openly, others may be concealed.

or People must first obtain a permit in order to carry concealed weapons. -- which we like too because it keeps a decent database for easier crimefighting.

MessageWe will never support relaxing of gun laws. Guns kill people. Pure and simple. It's just that nuclear weapon passive-agressiveness on a personal level isn't it?

MessageNice cliche, here's a few of my own:

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

When you criminalize guns, only criminals will have 'em.

It leaves every man free to choose the work he likes, to specialize in it, to trade his product for the products of others, and to go as far on the road of achievement as his ability and ambition will carry him." - Ayn Rand
