Bill: The Mercoburg Resolution

Details

Submitted by[?]: Mercoburg Hospitallers

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2363

Description[?]:

OOC: I and Delamere are RL friends. As experienced particracy players, we decided to play the role of two ancient aristocratic families who, after a dispute of centuries, decide to enter politics, to measure their influence and try, once again, to determine which is the strongest family. The Mercoburgs have a clear conservative stance, while the Delamere are liberal, but both agree on the rule of the best - the aristocracy.

IC:

"Members of the Tyrannical Archonic Advisory Council,

In the last centuries, Solentia has passed through many crises, regimes, golden and dark ages. Many parties have ruled this land, many dictatorships have been established - like the current one - but one thing never changed: the loyalty of the Mercoburg Family to it's country, never allying with foreign powers, it's prestige and it's work for the community, assuring, since the middle ages, peace and stability in it's feud, the Town of Mercoburg and nearby areas (ooc: near Olinthus City).

Thus, we believe it's time for this chamber to recognize once again, and legitimate the titles and powers of the Mercoburg family, by:

1. Recognizing the title of "Duke of Mercoburg" to Augustus Bonifacius of Mercoburg and to it's descent, following the common hereditary rules.
2. Dismissing the local Mayor, and the local governing bodies, who fail to understand the true identity of the region.
3. The formal creation of the Duchy of Mercoburg, with the town of Mercoburg as it's administrative capital.
4. The recognition of the role of the Duke of Mercoburg as leader of it's Duchy.
5. The inclusion of the Duke of Mercoburg in the group of advisors of the Emperor.

We submit our proposal to vote, expecting the support of the ASP deputies to approve this resolution."

ToDebating the The Mercoburg Resolution
MessageThis is fairly nice, but there are a few things I would like to clear up:
1. The Archonic rulers DEMAND that the House of Mercoburg and Delamere accept the Rule of the Archons and that they publicly declare their loyalty to the Totalitarian State before all things.
2. There are no mayors or local governing bodies or independent regions in Solentia. All are under the control of the oligarchs and the aristocrats in Metapontum, who rule through an iron fist.
3. The Archonic rulers will allow the Dukes of Mercoburg into the status of Archons provided that they are loyal to the ruling ideologies.

4. Therefore, I wish that you propose a second Resolution that reads as follows:

"Members of the Tyrannical Archonic Advisory Council,

In the last centuries, Solentia has passed through many crises, regimes, golden and dark ages. Many parties have ruled this land, many dictatorships have been established, but one thing never changed: the loyalty of the Mercoburg Family to it's country, the rule of the Totalitarian State, and the power of the Archons; they have never allied with foreign powers and their prestige and work for the community is renowned; they have worked to assure, since the middle ages, peace, stability, and the complete rule of the State in it's feud, the Town of Mercoburg and nearby areas (ooc: near Olinthus City).

Thus, we kindly submit our request that the beloved leaders of Solentia allow the family of Mercoburg into the ruling circle of Archons, and that the lands traditionally assigned to them be newly recognized by:

1. Assigning the title of "Duke of Mercoburg" to Augustus Bonifacius of Mercoburg and to his descendants, following the common hereditary rules.
2. Allowing these Dukes to rule over the region of Mercoburg in the name of and subordinate to the Supreme Solentian Imperium.
3. The formal creation of the Duchy of Mercoburg, with the town of Mercoburg as it's administrative center.
4. The recognition of the role of the Duke of Mercoburg as leader of it's Duchy.

We submit our proposal to vote, hoping for the support of the ASP deputies to approve this resolution."

Message"I, in name of my family, declare my full loyalty to the regime and to the Arch Emperor, and accept the proposal of the ASP, without any need of a second resolution. We are happy enough to see that the Government has, at least, recognized the value and the importance of the local Aristocracy. I thus expect more measures, in the future, to confirm the autonomy granted by this fair resolution.

The Duke of Mercoburg,

Augustus VII"

From Ducal House of Delamere
ToDebating the The Mercoburg Resolution
Message"Members of the Tyrannical Archonic Advisory Council,

we, Delameres, recognize the power attributed ,by the approval of this bill, to the Mercoburg Hospitallers and their rulling territory, as subordinates of the Supreme Solentian Imperitium. And, in a interest of fairness, we would like to propose the same ammount of power and privileges here being attributed to the Mercoburg Hospitallers, not forgetting offcourse the obligations that come inherent to those privileges, being also recognized by the State to the House of Delamere.

So, as demanded by the ASP, we would like to publicly announce our servance to the Rule of the Archons and loyalty to the Totalitarian State. Leaving for further discussion the estipulations of such agreement."
