Message | This is an emergency budget proposal, ensuring funding of our services and military. Military spending is slightly inflated for hopefully obvious causes. We would hope to reduce this in the future. It is running a very small deficit, but it can be considered balanced. We have quite a positive balance with our recent surplus. Putting this to immediate vote. |

Message | (( And by "slightly inflated", i mean quite heavily - 10% of budget, around three times what would be normal )) |

Message | We would support reducing all spending except for defense, which we would increase, and education and science, which we would leave the same. Increasing everything is unreasonable. |

Message | It is neccesary, currently the government provides everything from power to agriculture to hospitals. In some cases private enterprise in these fields is still illegal due to the laws of the previous regime. Without increased spending we may find ourselves without food or power and no private trade to provide this. The budget can be ammended later to fit any change in laws presented, but for now we ask the SLP support the budget. With our current surplus they have nothing to lose by doing so, but everything to lose by denying our services the funds they require. |

Message | Extreme increases in both education and health when both of these things have been largely privatised since the previous budget? I don't think so, pouring money into systems that don't need it. We're not in favour of, you know, gold-plated lunch trays in elementary schools. |

Message | What's wrong with spending more money on Jakania's education? Education is one of the most important aspects of govenment since it gives the next generation of citizens with the tools to succeed in life. |

Message | This bill does good by investing more money on the citizens of Jakania. The miniscule deficiet which it gives us should be very very easy to emerge from. |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
