Message | Despite what the LITP think this bill proposes, it does not: "That only those refugees that are the victims of extreme circumstance be given aid, and this aid should be of basic subsistence accomodation and support only That financial aid be provided for a period of no more than six weeks, and then reviewed on a case-by-case basis, with further aid given if there is a strong humanitarian reason only That all refugees, where able, be required to make every effort to support themselves and their dependants, and that local governments offer basic employment at minimum wage to those refugees who cannot find employment themselves That any offer of work be temporary, lasting only as long as refugee status and income prevail, and under no circumstances results in Likatonian citizens being without employment." All of this is not provided for in this proposal. It is pure fiction with the aim of manipulating the left-wing of the Convocation to vote for this bill. We know better. We will vote against this bill and we hope that the compassionate parties will see through the LITP's farce. |

Message | The LITP respect the viewpoint of the CLP, but would like to re-iterate that, whilst the Article itself is limited in scope, that the additional caveats of the Bill are just as legally binding. |

Message | Horrendous. The last thing we want is a country full of penniless refugees. We will fight this vehemently. |

Message | Our reasons for not supporting are numerous - but foremost among them is the idea of 'all refugees', where no need is felt to describe what a 'refugee' is, when extreme circumstance isn't part of the definition. Refugee from... bad diet in Lodamun? Refugee from... low wages in Keymon? |

Message | We oppose this fairly strongly, as at bottom this is open immigration. We like our current immigration policy, where for humanitarian reasons we allow people in who are victims of extreme circumstances, but for all others they must show they have something to offer Likatonia (quotas based on qualifications). |
