Bill: Historical Site Freedom Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: AM Populist Social Democrats
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2366
Description[?]:
Whereas, We believe that the public should have access to historical sites maintained without a political agenda, that we should not erase "inappropriate" history, however We would prefer not to overspend federal money on such sites if it is possible to maintain them otherwise and there are more important areas on which to spend it, and Whereas, local governments have very good reason to maintain such historical sites, if they are popular, to promote tourism, We hereby propose to devolve historical site maintenance to local governments. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change National, cultural and historic sites and monuments.
Old value:: The state actively removes or modifies cultural and historical heritage which are considered "inappropriate", or if public interest so requires.
Current: The state actively protects scenery, localities, cultural, and historical sites; it maintains an agency to preserve them untouched if public interest so requires.
Proposed: This matter is left up to the local governments.
