Newly-elected Supreme Governor Omar al-Jabr is making good on his campaign promises and formally requesting a declaration of war, reflecting the continued genocide against the Wantuni people and occupation of their territory, the recent use of nuclear weaponry on the populace of Kanjor, and the general unrepentant, belligerent attitude of the Solentian regime.

MessageOur suggestions:

Firstly, we should really define our mandate here. We reccomend it be the removal of Solentian and Solentian-allied armed forces from Wantuni territory. Once this is accomplished, we can ammend the mandate or call it a day.

Secondly, I think parties should speedily give an indication of whether they would support such a bill before it goes to vote. Anything short of unanimous support will no doubt harm our war effort , the morale of our forces, and any impression of solidarity we have on the issue.

We do not want a war, but we can not watch as less than a few miles away millions are killed. It is an abhorent act, and it will not stop at Wantuni. One way or another, Solentia must retreat back beyond their own borders.

MessageWe believe these actions may be inevitable, but for the sake of fair decisions, there other considerations:

United Jakania has never been involved in a true war. Centuries of isolationism meant it pretty much ignored the world as it went by. Naturally, this ended when Deltaria finally annexed the country, which is the closest thing our history books contain to a real war.

Solentia has weapons of mass destruction; nuclear, biological, and chemical. Even against states with reciprocal weapons, they have not been afraid to use them. We can not act as though they will not use them against us. If we procede with this declaration, we suggest we take counter-measures to deal with this, and we will open another debate shortly on the issue.

So as our parties note their position on this issue, we ask that they consider the significance of their decisions.

MessageThe Liberal Democratic Party has always been an opponent of war. We despise the very constructs and ideals of war. However, this cause is a push for freedom, democracy, and liberty which are all honorable causes.

Condeming the war was a large step. We acknowledge what is the situation at hand here, but we feel uneasy to enter this war. We would not say as to yet that war is inevitable, but we will say that the chances are proportionally large. Preparation has been taking its course which we are grateful to the other parties for. But, that is not to say we are ready.

We support the causes of this war that have been shown, but we will remain very cautious on how this war is planned and brought about in the event that Jakania does choose to take part in this conflict.

MessageWe respect the JCP's position. In fact we feel that avoiding the war would be preferable, but preventing our entrance at this point may not prevent the war. Solentia has declared their desire for this to spread, and no doubt it will once Wantuni's legislature is locked down and the nation's power is transferred to Solentia's Head of State, which, without outside help, may be inevitable.

Avoiding the war is something we want, but we have to ask ourselves if turning a blind eye will really achieve this. Whether five years down the line or fifty, eventually Solentia's going to continue expanding outwards, and we're the ones that will be sharing borders with them.

We present the following two article exerpts from within Solentia for your perusal. One from the start of the war, and one from one month later.

-----

"Entrenched Solentian troops along the border are destroying Wantuni militias and conventional missiles have been deployed and fired across the Wantuni borders.

Haven continued, "This is Judgement Day - the State shall rule supreme over Wantun and soon the whole of Terra. United shall the human race face the future, united shall we live, united under the state in an unbreakable utopia, an orgy of obediance that shall make humanity one, terrible, unassuagable, unstoppable, force. Terra is only the beginning! We are gods, Deis! Gods!

"This is the future we fight for, today. We step up into a new era. No more shall there be politics, no more ideology, no more bickering, no more disputes. One force. Unity. Atonement. Guided by the State's godhead we shall strive to increase our power. And, Deis, our power has no bounds. Soon it shall be infinite. Harnessing the very forces that form the foundation of the Universe we shall create a ubiquitous State of ultimate power that shall never fall, never fail, never end!"

-----

"It has been only a month since the Solentians arrived across the Wantuni borders, but already an estimated 1.2 million are killed or injured. In the most terrifying, brutal, and extreme war in living memory, chemical and biological weapons, death camps, forced labor, and deportation have and are being used. The Archon Praetor announced two weeks ago about the implementation of "panpolemos," or "complete war." Civilian targets are hit more frequently than military ones, and the beat of the war machine has focused upon utterly annihilating all living Wantunians.

VX nerve gas and anthrax bombs have been dropped over the capital for the last week. All those found who are not Solentian soldiers are either shot on site or selectively chosen for work in the labor camps. The armies of the Archon have taken heavy losses from the Wantunian troops, but the populace of Solentia has been conditioned over the last few decades to fight without pause. Throughout Solentia, the factories are working non-stop, the rations have been cut, the draft is taking those as young as 16, and the propaganda ministry is working tirelessly to keep up moral.

Meanwhile, the government in Wantuni, which is really a Solentian puppet, has ordered the army not to resist, and no official Wantuni resistance has formed. Only private armies and militias are left to fight the war for Wantuni, and they have been deprived of all heavy equipment, which has been held in warehouses by the Wantuni puppet government. Most of the nation is now held by some sort of Solentian control, and only the lightly populated hinterlands are still outside of the invaders' hegemony.

In Solentia, further plans are in action for the repopulation of the nation after the war. All families were ordered at the beginning of Archonic rule to have at least 8 children in preparation for the repopulation of conquered lands. Now that the armies have gone about killing as many living Wantunis are possible, those born in the birth rate hike are preparing for deployment to Wantuni once it is somewhat secure. It is estimated by officials that within 15 years, the population of the lands formerly known as Wantuni will be around 68% Solentian and only 32% Wantuni."

MessageWantuni has been taken, its time to move on, our first concern should be for Jakania and Jakania alone. Solentia has already shown its willingness to use Nuclear weapons, this Country has hamstrung itself by refusing my bills for the authorisation of Nuclear weapons. If we go to war there is only one outcome, defeat by Nuclear holocaust. Those who are too blind to see this then vote in the affirmative, my conscience will be clear when the bombs rain down on us.

They do not care if we want neutrality, and even if we reqeust that they honor our neutrality and not attack, they will not accept do to the fact that we ratified that one treaty (I think its called Non recognition of the Solentian regime)

MessageOur possession of WMDs would not deter the Solentians. They have been proven to have no compassion for any people, not even their own. If we used these weapons on their cities, it would only slow them down. If we used these weapons on their armies, well, that might work but only sort of. If we threatened to use these weapons, whether or not we intend to, the Solentians will ignore them.

What we really need is some sort of anti-WMD system. A comprehensive system including inoculations, gas masks, anti-ICBM countermeasures, and so on and so forth.

MessageWe will remain neutral but have a few words to share.

All we will say is, make sure we make the right decision. War is something not to be rushed. If we move too fast we will be lost within our own treck. If we move too slow we may give the Solentians a possible advantage. We urge parties to have a clear mind in relation to other parties so that our decision is not made partisan. This declaration of war should be a bi-partisan measure, not a few parties coming to a common consensus. There are now eight parties (seven fully active) that should be included within this decision and in how we plan our future. We cannot move towards a new goal and concept without the other parties, unless they refuse to be part of the progressiveness we invelope.

If parties refuse to partake and move forward, then it is the Supreme Council's right to exclude them. But, we must keep relations respectable to forward the most effectiveness we uphold. We should perhaps discuss the future of our nation and whether we near unanimously agree if war is what is right. We wish to ease tension, not further it. If we plan on partaking in war then we must not have a war between parties in the Supreme Council. It is essential we work together and that we all come to a common consensus.

We hope that parties take what we have said with relative seriousness. No side should be provoked or offended by this; this is meant to ease the situation at hand.

MessageThe M.R.P. would fully support and back a declaration of war with Solentia. The Solentians have unjustifiably harmed our friends, the Wantuni people, with nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons. This alone should be a reason for war. Also, the Solentians pose a future threat to the safety of Jakania. They have proved that they are a ruthless war machine through their invasion of Wantuni, and that they seek to expand their empire at no cost. They WILL ATTACK us if we remain neutral. NOW, is the time to emerge from our centuries of isolationism and fight the tyranneous, oppressive regime of Solentia!!! The M.R.P. urges the Supreme Council to immediately declare war on the nation of Solentia.

MessageSeeing how Solentia's military spending is alone 650,000,000,000 SOL alone, we do not feel that military force over our opponent (if we went to war) is acheivable. Their military and defense spending is more than all of our spending in all 13 ministries combined. This is a honorable war, but if we are going to survive it we best stay out of this conflict. Though, we would whole-heartedly support sending the Wantunis relief, arms, and supplies.

We, as of the current time, will not support going to war.

MessageThe L.D.P. brings up a good point. If we enter this war independently, we will surely be doomed. We were unaware of this fact when writing our previous response.

If we are to enter war with Solentia, we will need to forge alliances with numerous powerful nations. The M.R.P. reccommends that we do such and form temporary alliances until the conclusion of this war.

MessageWhile that remains true, we must look at these countries. Kanjor's Defense Budget is 72,000,000,000. The other nation's spending is 24,000,000,000. They do not equal even one sixth of Solentia's Defense Budget combined!

As for their success, I have only heard good reports. Meaning, they are fine alone and need not our help. It is best to stay out of this one. As we said earlier, we will whole-heartedly support sending relief aid. If you want to help their cause, start out small and then grow big. But with the J.C.P. against the war and us teetering against violence, you aren't going to get a direct trip to intervention. We have to come to a consensus, and while we personally still remain open to gracious influence, we will not support a declaration for war. Without the entire government we will suffer penalties in the war. We should do something to help the cause, and that would be relief.

Many other nations have also condemned the Solentians and have cut off relations and trade. They have been weakened by embargos and isolationism. Our nation has just recently been freed and been made modern. We are too young and new to engage in this conflict. If we send relief we can help these people instead of arguing about something we won't do. And, if the Solentian's intercept our relief or harm us in the doing, we have an explanation to go to war.
