Message | This bill aims to prevent speculation within the stock market. By charging investors for each investment they may, we dissuade those investors only interested in short-term gains from investing. No company gains from this activity, since the capital provided by the investment is quickly removed. At its worst, stock market speculation can lead to bubbles, that will eventually pop. This act encourages individuals to prudently invest only in the long term. In this instance, their investment will ultimately contribute to plant expansion and research and development - positive outcomes for Telamon. |

Message | Or we can just lower the Corporate Taxation and not tax the stock trades. Why lower taxes only to create or raise other taxes? |

Message | Because here the tax discourages a bad (speculation), while corporate income is not a social bad. |
Date | 11:26:46, March 10, 2007 CET | From | Conservative Alliance | To | Debating the Unilateral Fisheries Extension Act |
Message | We have the advantage of the extra borders for fishing around Migaton. Let's not upset the international community by undermining a key treaty for small gain. |
