Bill: Property Rights Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2371

Description[?]:

The Government of Hobrazia recognizes that individuals have a sovereign right to property, and this right shall not be infringed upon except under due process of the law.

To this end, the Government, relinquishes it's arbitrary power of seizure of private property belonging to an individual, or a group of individuals.

The Government may choose to buy a particular piece of property, but it must not initiate force in it's acquisition.

If however someone is found guilty of a certain crime, such as theft or property destruction, or anything relating to property crime, the Government may still seize that person(s) property in order to compensate the victims of said crime. Thus explains the due process provision stated in the first clause.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow official national flags of real-life nations or flags which are very prominent and recognisable (eg. the flags of the European Union, the United Nations, Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union or the Confederate States of America).
