MessageIf we do this, can we have them in April? Many Likatonians, we all know, go on vacation in May, and are forced to cast absentee ballots.

OOC: That would move them back to the original time we agreed to. Now, most of the parties that agreed to that time are no longer active; and actually, I have nothing against the time we would now be reset to.

But if the now-active people want to return to Saturdays, I'll go along with it; but let's please move it one tick earlier then, which was when we originally set it before the server missed a month and threw the ticks off.

MessageThe AMELIP are amenable to this sensible request.

OOC: I'll put this to the vote sometime in the next 12hrs. If there are objections, shout now!

MessageWe will vote yes in March (which would have them held in April if passed in March). However, if it has not passed at the end of March to cause elections to be held in April, we will switch to a no vote.

Our votes might or might not matter in their occurrence, depending on what other parties do. But we do oppose intentionally resetting them to May, as (OOC: due to the computer missing a tick) it would not be the (OOC: real life) time we previously agreed on.

We would like for the AMELIP to agree to also change their votes away from yes to avoid resetting to May, if possible (and maybe change the name of this proposal to April ratrher than May). We are amenable to either the time we had scheduled before, or to the time they will now naturally occur, but we never liked the time they came to occur after the tick bug.

OOC: Experienced players-- most people here-- will already know this most likely, but if it is to take place in April the votes needed to pass it will need to reach a majority exactly in March-- neither before not after.

MessageOOC: For what it's worth, the AMELIP is attempting to restore elections to a specific day of the real life week (Saturday here, actually Sunday morning in Europe) to which the active parties had, at the time, agreed. It was to be at the time that a passage in April would bring about. It had been (in alternating cycles) May/November, but then a tick was missed that made every month 4 hours later. We-- they and us-- tried to restore it to April/October once, to the real life time we'd agreed on, but not everyone knew just when they had to vote yes to make it happen.

I don't really care. If people want it back on American Saturdays, it's okay with me. But many of the parties that agreed to it are no longer active, and if people want the schedule set up by the prior early elections, I'm also okay with that.

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action.
