MessageYeah, but the point of the bill isn't to go against the NDU/NSU/PSU, it is to prevent policemen from using torture at whim.

MessageIf they find a person smoking a joint, they can rough them up a little bit to find out who sold them it. Hopefully this experiance would help police enquiries and straighten the person out. Of course this is just one example of the wonders of torture.

MessageExcept there is no restrictions on torture being relative to the crime - jaywalkers and potheads could get electroshock therapy or isolation. And you only need to be a suspect to be tortured.

MessageYes but there is no restriction on your proposal - who decides what a national emergency is? Do police officers have to phone the president everytime they want to torture someone? Obviously torture will be regulated. But we need it to get info from criminals, maybe even teach them a lesson about justice.
