Bill: Parliamentary Reform Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: AM Populist Social Democrats

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2373

Description[?]:

With negotiations that have been very public, all on the debate pages, we are going to propose the following:

1) That the number of proposals that can be stored be reduced from 12 to 9. While this does not stop really huge bills from being made, as it is possible to build them part by part, it does at least force one to tip one's hand if so doing.

2) As something we apparently need to do to get part 1 passed, we will increase the allocation of proposals from 12 to 15. We would prefer not to do this, but we think it is needed to get the proposal passed.

3) We will propose a 399 seat Convocation. We would see nothing wrong with sticking with our current 199 seats, but what has the votes now to pass will bring us to a ridiculously high number, and so we will try for a compromise there with basically just double what we currently have, but far less than the 666 about to pass.

MessageAlas, our Convocation votes were misplaced after a rather curious incident, involving a dog, the night-time, and some dry ice. Should this be re-proposed, or at least the first two articles, we woudl endeavour to cast our votes.

Apologies
