Bill: National parks are not our priority.

Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2086
Description[?]:
Having proposed a compromise bill wherein National Parks were to be devolved to the staes, Vox Pop radio arranged a national poll on this issue. The results of this poll can be seen here: http://82.238.75.178:8085/particracy/main/viewnews.php?newsid=3626 Giving due consideration to the desires of our population we are proposing that the archaic system of national parks be scrapped. Now we realise that the CCF-Greens will be up in arms about this, but they were opposing the local control anyway. It seems that our people are telling us that we have other fish to fry, before worrying about protecting wilderness areas for those with sufficient leisure time to enjoy them. As over 60% of our people consider that funding national parks in any way is wrong and we agree with them in that this is not a matter for government spending. If environmental groups wish to preserve areas of wilderness, let them buy the land. |

Message | It wasn't their money to start with, we take the position that the money in their pocket was merely in a 'transitional' state, merely one of the stages of being before it ends up with the park authorities. |

Message | So when someone works their butt off, what they receive for this is not theirs to dispose of as they see fit. It is only passing through their hands and they do not have the right to decide where they forward it. Yes wealth is part of a social convention, and it does have to circulate, but the issue here is about the control on the direction of that flow. The worker that has, by their effort, obtained some wealth has, in our opinion, the right to direct the movement of that wealth. It would appear that for yourself, ownership does not imply any power of disposal. If this is the case, what does define ownership? |
