Message | Again, we shall let the governing parties decide how to alter the budget to accommodate these cuts. |

Message | And we again point out that these cuts should not be being made in the first place unless there is a clear requirement for these cuts, which have not been proven to be necessary. |

Message | They are necessary, they put a stranglehold on business and increase the living costs of everyone. |
Date | 14:55:19, March 19, 2007 CET | From | We Say So! Party | To | Debating the Prosperity Act |
Message | They in no way increase living costs of anyone, nor do they place a stranglehold on business. Should they be set at 50%+ they would be a stranglehold but the current law is no different to business than is income tax on our citizens (and is actually much lower). |

Message | "They in no way increase living costs of anyone" You see, businesses have this thing called revenue, and then they have this thing called expenses. What happens when you tax them is it increases expenses, and thus less revenue. In order to compensate the business passes this on to the consumer. This leaves the average consumer with less money than they would have. A little economic reality for your party. "Should they be set at 50%+ they would be a stranglehold but the current law is no different to business than is income tax on our citizens (and is actually much lower)." This logic only works if we accept the notion that the current income tax levels are not a stranglehold as well. We are of the opinion that they are. |
