Bill: Improvement of Agriculture Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Party of Moderates

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2377

Description[?]:

The Party of Moderates feels that genetically modified crops would be a blessing to the nation. With genetic modification, we can potentially farm crops all year around and in any climate. We can even increase of the crops or make it impossible for certain bad chemicals to infect the crops. The possibilities are endless. So, for these reasons, the PM suggests allowing GM crops to be raised.

Legislature Resolution: Before any genetic modifying of crops, all farms planning to do so must inform the government of their intentions. They must list their actions to the government departments of Science and Technology or Agriculture. No farmer who has been convicted of a felony may manufacture genetically modified crops.

MessageWe don't see why not. Why handicap our farmers on the International Market unnecessarily? We will definitely vote yes.

MessageWe can support as long as we have some comission set up that will control this and at the same time good enough regulations. We do not want to inadvertedly kill off half of our population.

But other than that, our party has always been a supporter of innovation and research.

MessageJust add it in the descriptive text. We can be a bit creative, after all, no law has just one line of text.

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with.
