Message | Absolutely not. There is nothing unacceptable within that treaty. We are very much in support of it. In fact, we hope to use our influence to spread it to the international community. |

Message | We'd be interested indeed to hear how our influence will be able to convince *anybody* to ratify the treaty. Our influence over the governments of others, if it exists at all, is very, very small. |
Date | 09:19:13, March 20, 2007 CET | From | Social Democrats | To | Debating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Withdrawal Act |
Message | This treaty was already a matter of tough debate with TCP and we opposed the withdrawal with all political forces we have. We will do so again - this treaty must remain in place. |

Message | As to influencing, we propose a status quo in the near future for a couple of days and use that time to actively lobby the international community. If there is a positive response we will draft a resolution stating that there is a period of certain time when no legislation is proposed and we concentrate our efforts internationally. |

Message | This treaty is not touched |

Message | The TCP of course agrees with the Independant Right - the UDHR, whilst very noble in theory, is merely limiting various government activity. The TCP is not a fascist party, and passionately aposes any fascist ideology, but we do believe that a few articles defined in the UDHR are unnessicary and may limit the extent of justice and social order. That having been said, the TCP understands that unless there was a huge influx of conservative parties to the nation anytime soon, this bill will unfortunately never be appreciated, passed, or so much as considered intelligently. OOC: I've been barking up that tree for a while, pal :P It's a good one to keep at if you want a good fight on your hands, but if we actually wanted to pass the withdrawl then it's basically like kicking a dead horse. |
