Description[?]:
"Well apparently there are some unclear parts to the law that says "Children may work, but with additional regulations that adults have" So we here at the U.D.J are proposing a resolution to clear things up. Article 1 Employment age: 1) The minimum age one must be to seek work is dependant on the job type ~Service job's:minimum age 16 ~factory working is illegal for non-adults ~Children will not be allowed to work in stores that sell weaponry *this means acutal weapons, not things that could be considered one, such as a kitchen knife Article 2 Amount of hours permitted to work per day and the time of the day they can work up to: 1) During nights where the next day the child shall have to go to school can reach up to the maximum time of six hours, and no child shall be allowed to work past 9:00 P.M. 2) During weekends, the child may work for a maxium of 10 hours(debateable). There is no specific time they cannot work past, but must be home by the curfew time for minors made by the local governments. 3) A child is not permitted to work for more than 20 hours per week. Article 3 Wages: 1) The amount paid will be up to the employer, but must be at least the national minimum wage Article 4 Legality and Enforcment 1) This bill, if it passes, will need re-proposing in 15 years 2) If any of these laws are broken, the child may tell a parent/guardian, and the parent/guardian will submit a complaint to be reviewed by the Ministry of Justice 3)If this bill passes, it shall override the current child labor laws in place -Minister of Justice, Jacob Kotowski, U.D.J |

Message | In the United States, the minimum age for which one can work for an actual company is 14. However, people between the ages of 14 and 16 can only work a maximum of 20 hours a weeks and there are many, many restrictions on what type of work they can do. We would prefer to see this same policy adopted in Article 1, Section 1, and Article 2, Section 2. |

Message | We support this bill and think it is very fair bill, but we would like the weekend hour changed to 10 hour so they can work 5 hours a day. |

Message | "I have a few things to discuss here. I generally do not agree with Articles 1 and 4. Articles 2 and 3 I can support. First I have my complaints. In Article 1, I do not agree with the showing of examples in a Resolution. Laws that will be enforced cannot be demonstrated by their content with examples. Areas of the Resolution that will become binding law must be specifically written out in a form clearly negotiable with existing legal substance and understandable format. The examples listed are extremely vague. For instance, the example that was given in the Resolution context giving an age to minors working a paper route. What about the rest of the jobs they can be employed in? This is the same for Fast Food example and the few other jobs noted. I would propose that this is redefined as service jobs or other specified fields of employment rather than naming one type of work. Another thing that I strongly disagree with is the inconsistency of ages listed within the Resolution. If I am correct, the Resolution gave distinguished levels of ages numbering at 12 and 14. I would support a set level age of 16, but none other. It would be noticibly easier if there was one set age instead of for example, this job you have to be 12, that one 14, that one 13, and that other one 15. If the vague sections of what I have touched upon are changed and the outcome is appropriate, I would give support. I do not agree with Article 4 in its entirety. First of all, I cannot say this major Resolution that will bind our nation in working fields to the named restrictions will necessarily work. I would propose that we decrease the amount of years this remains law for to a lower level, no higher than 15. It is important that this Resolution's preformance will be able to work in conjunction with the laws Local Governments and the Federal Government have placed in force. This is something I urge the United Democrats to consider changing. As for the last part of this Resolution, I must say I disagree with even more. The Minister of Justice will not be able to alone handle the complaint reports filed by numerous children with their parent or guardians' approval. This should be filed to the Justice Ministry, not specifically the Minister of Justice. After all, there are more people in the Ministry of Justice than just the Minister of Justice. Regarding the filing of the complaing report, I cannot support. The minor should and must have support and consent from their respective parents or guardians. I hope that the United Democrats of Jakania's Leadership on this particular bill deeply considers taking into account my concerns. Thank you. I now yield the floor." - L.D.P.
