Bill: Disarmament of civilans

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialanarchist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2382

Description[?]:

To reduce lethal violence within the country it is essential to reduce the amount of personal firearms. This will make it harder to actually commit a murder when committed to the task and near impossible when making a rush decision. It will also reduce the general fear level as you do not have to expect every stranger to be able to end your life in the blink of an eye.

MessageAbsolutely not. Personal possewssion of arms is essential for the citizentry to protect itself from totalitarian government. Also crime rates will increase with the disarming of the law-abiding because the only persons with arms will be ctriminals - those who do not obey firearms laws

MessageThe abundance of firearms causes more fear than security. Fear has always been better suited to control an unwilling mass than force.
Even for criminals it will become very hard and, in most cases, stupid to own firearms. If you are wanted you try to avoid any crime that might get you investigated.

MessageHere we go: take away private ownership of guns in the name of "collective safety." What's next? Quartering soldiers against a home owner's will? Taking private property and turning it over to government cushy developers? Yep, our new "progressive" government marches forward. And the rest of us follow like lemmings off a cliff.

MessageThe MLP isn't complaining about the FSDP's stance on this particular issue; we are actually impressed considering your stance on other citizen rights infringing legislation. The Communists, after all, introduced this needless measure. However, the "progressive government" is typically allianced with the CP, who actually cooked-up and introduced this measure. When you align yourself with oppressive political parties it starts to rub-off on you. Remember that FSDP.
