Message | There is nothing stopping people from working past 60. The retirement age of 60 is not a mandatory retirement age, rather it is the first point where a person whishing to retire may receive a (reduced) pension from the State pension scheme. The age of retirement at which a person receives the full pension isn't until 65 whilst they may further increase that pension by working until age 75. Message | I believe that the people need to be motivated to use the experience in the work, with the increase of the retirement age the youths will have more time to learn with the experts! |

Message | We believe that people should be able to choose what is best for them. By increasing the retirement age we place increased pressure on those people who might otherwise take early retirement due to ill health. We must also consider the risks to employment by increasing the number of people in the job market making it more difficult for the young to gain employment and so harm the economic output of the nation overall. We repeat, the current law allows for people to retire early, but at a reduced rate of pension. This law would not only increase the pressure on the working people but also increase government expenditure as all retired people would be on the higher pension payment rate. |
