Message | "I agree with Articles 1 and 3. However we oppose Articles 2 and 4. It is my belief that the Local Governments should handle Article 4 according to what their populous wants and that the Federal Government shouldn't decide what a local community does in this field. As for Article 2, the National Energy Corporations have been doing a fine job and this law needs no changing. I yield the floor." - L.D.P. Minority Leader Sherrod Brown |

Message | Due to APSC committments, we regretably vote "no" on this issue. We fully support Articles One, Two and Three, but are not sure of Article Four. We do not understand why the LDP and other APSC parties opposes Article Two. Instead of one nationalized energy provider, citizens will be able to choose a private energy provider. Also, the services the private companies provide will be regulated to ensure that prices are not extraordinarily high. Having energy corporations compete against each other will provide citizens with better, higher quality service, and it will create additional jobs. We believe that a nationalized energy corporation can be corrupt and set high prices knowing citizens will have no other option for energy service. We would also like to ask the LDP how they come to the assumption that the nationalized energy company is doing a fine job. |

Message | "Because the Minister of Infrastructure Charles McArthur says it is" (if LDP would let us speak on there behalf) -Charles McArthur, UDJ |

Message | We still stick to our belief that privatising energy with regulations and restrictions would be better for Jakania. It would allow different energy companies to compete against each other and force them to devise new ways to better serve the Jakanian people. |
Date | 15:02:05, April 05, 2007 CET | From | Scientific Libertarian Party | To | Debating the Frist Amendments |
Message | We are entirely in favour of privatising industry, especially those so vital as energy. Government-run industries are at best woefully inefficient, at worst... well, much worse. However, civil rights are even more important to us than economic freedom, so we must vote no. |
