Bill: Seat Redistribution Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Catholic Workers Union
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2385
Description[?]:
OOC: I have a fun district map where I can color in "districts" in each Canton for every seat a party wins there. Unfortunately it's for 300 seats. If we want to use it again for RP (I would), we'd have to go back to 300 seats. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The total number of seats in the legislative assembly. Should be between 75 and 750.
Old value:: 601
Current: 450
Proposed: 300

Message | Won't you have to re-draw it anyways because the amount of seats per Canton changes? |

Message | Nah, it'd be really easy if we change it. I'd only have to add a line or two in here and there. If we keep it at 600 we can't use the map though, because I don't have the stamina to redraw 600 districts. Here's a link to the old district map: http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m84/NealMey/TelamonDistricts.jpg?t=1175805421 And what it looks like colored in: http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m84/NealMey/Election2295.png?t=1175805673 I really enjoyed using them, and they would be great to incorporate back into the gameplay. That's the only reason I support this bill. |

Message | Would this affect the number of seats parties could win, or would they be exactly the same proportionally, just lower in real numbers? OOC: Yes, we are worried about losing even more seats :) |

Message | Just lower in real numbers. You'd still have the same proportion of seats. |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
