Bill: Concealed Carry Laws

Details

Submitted by[?]: Divine Party of the Republic

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2387

Description[?]:

If the arguement made is that an armed populace has lower crime (but it is yet to be proven), then would it not make sense that, in order to actually reduce crime, the criminal must know that the potential victem is armed, otherwise we end up with dead criminals, instead of scared straight criminals, the second of whom might contribute to society

MessageDoesn't matter if civilian weapon ownership reduces crime or not. It's a basic right of an individual to be allowed to appropriately defend themselves. As far as forcing people to keep weapons in sight, well that causes a lot of accidents. Some normal people freak out when they see a weapon. Is the wielder a good guy or a bad guy? A lot can go wrong that wouldn't happen otherwise if weapons are concealed.
