Bill: The Compromise Sales and Corporate Taxes Reduction Act of 2388

Details

Submitted by[?]: Moderate Libertarian Party (NoCoalition)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2388

Description[?]:

A bill to allow individual citizens to keep more of what they earn by making a COMPROMISE and reducing the sales tax and corporate taxes (which are passed on in the cost of goods to consumers by producers) in the Democratic Republic of Aloria. As previous bills to eliminate altogether said taxes were not approved by the majority, this bill seeks consensus by halving corporate taxes AND sales taxes but, again, NOT eliminating them as previously considered by the legislature.

The national sales tax will be cut from 10% to 5% to increase purchasing power of consumer citizens. The national tax on corporations will be cut from 4% to 2% to increase businesses ability to create jobs and help reduce nation-stifling unemployment rates.

MessageAnd the MLP blames us for bad accounting???? In the budget debate, it's sums where so funny. Their foirt budget was not balanced, with more money going out than coming in, then it blames us for not being able to count, we, who gave this country a balanced budget. Now they are reducing income even more, totally throwing the budget off once again.

But what do you expect of the party working, not for the people of thes nation, but for being corporate Aloria!

MessageWe balanced the budget, FSDP. Check it out. And the conservative block also gave the country a surplus. What more do you want? Oh, wait, your liberals you want more as long as someone else is paying for it. It took several different budgets to get it right, yes, because we were trying to gain a compromise and consensus. That's what good government does. We did it thanks to the AHR, while you folks abstained or opposed flat-out. Thanks for contributing (with negativity as usual). We've also cut some government programs and "entitlements" (no thanks for you), so that reduces the cost of running government. You have no standing; no room to talk. Again, you lose and you'd rather argue than work. Another hallmark of your political ideology. We are moving this nation forward with or without you.

MessageForward? Hungry people dying is moving forweard? The children of the poor not being educated is moving forward? Old people dying because they vcan not afford the high private medical costs is moving forward? The MLP has a very strange idea of moving forward then!! And I will. again, remind you that the previous government also produced a surpluson the budget, and still with low taxes, and help to the poor.

We are also, indeed, thankfull for the ltest crompomise budget, and apologise for not being able to vote on it. We would have voted yes, only because it is slightly better than the previous one aproved. And also this is why we said we are thankfull for the AHR being part of government, as their moderate centrists voice is much needed in our polarised nation right now.

MessageWhat hungry people? Old people dying? We still have private charities like soup kitchens and clinics, and some local municipalities that choose to use their local tax base to offer public services. The difference now is when they go and work, they can keep more of the money they earn to do things like eat, pay the rent and buy clothing. But you tax-and-spenders don't care. Tax a business and then the layoffs come. Then, the unemployed rely on government services which means higher taxes for the rich, which means they don't buy as many goods and services and businesses go-out. Which leads to what? Unemployment. It's a vicious cycle because you entitlement/gov't. program mongers put your hearts before your heads.

MessageAt the low tax rate we had. or still have for that matte, this law has not passed yet. Do not be silly. We do not see bussinesses go out because of tax. We see it go out because of the lack of skilled people in our couttry, since we fall in the cycle of poverty by not letting our poor's children go to school.

And charities can feed you today, a public health and education system teach you the skills and give the abibity to feed yourself, breaking the cycle of poverty, something no amount of soup kitchens can do. The bigger picture is important here, nad the long term view.

By the way, we would have supported the bill if the tax on corporations was not included.

MessageAgain, you surely know it doesn't eliminate the corporate tax. It halves it which will help corporations cut overhead and free them up to employ more people. Which means people get off government assistance, empower themselves and their futures, government doesn't go into debt effecting essential services like security, and the taxbase increases allowing for a basic functioning government. The sales tax, of course, would halve too, placing more income into workers pockets. Again, not a government program for them but something more they can use to pay rent, buy food, etc. You know the tax cuts will happen after the next election cycle. This was a compromise from our earlier stance. Too bad you can't embrace it for the sake of both employers and workers.

MessageHire more woprkers with the extra money? No, that never happens. They just love the higher profits, and the board gets salary increases. No more jobs, this is the reality
