Message | Cars are essential to moving Malivia from our backwards society into a modern economic framework. As far as the ecological impact, we made sure that the recent allowance was intended for eco-friendly fuel. "we must redesign our cities which over the past 100 yrs have adapted to foot traffic and mass transit." Why? If it's an effective design that requires no vehicles than that's completely unnecessary. Malivian arcology is an important part of our culture. "we must build parking structures and lots to store empty vehicles during the day while our citizens work" So be it. Parking garages are not space-intensive, and a structure can easily cover several block's worth of automobiles. |

Message | Why are cars needed for for economic freedom? Transportation is needed however we have a solid public transit system and cities designed without cars factored in. Once cars are permitted people will use them for their simplicity. As more and more cars are used more of our cities spaces will transform into housing for cars. Public transit systems will depreciate, forcing more cars onto the road, and continuing the cycle. Arcologies are part of our culture and permitting vehicles will lead to their demise. Its cheaper to not build them in the short run so without a solid incentive, such as the lack of cars, they will not be built. Finally using the standard average of 250 sq ft per office worker and about 100 sq ft per vehicle, even if one in two people drive to work, you need to have 1 in every 6 buildings, if they are built to the same size, devoted to parking. |
