Bill: IP Privatization Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Imperialist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2389

Description[?]:

An act to increase the role of the private sector within the Telamonian economy, in areas where the goods in question are essentially private goods. While the Imperialist Party supports the welfare state, we believe it should be aimed at
1. providing public goods that will be poorly provided for by the private sector
2. providing a leg-up for those that would otherwise starve

MessageThis will create a chasm between the classes that has been maticulously closed. Healthcare is a human right, as is a high living wage. Private schools will create a dynasty of the bourgeoisie, with their future generations being far better equiped in soceity and therefore naturally dominate it. Private schools are training camps for the shock troops of the bourgeois counter revolution.

MessageI like the terminology of the last post. I have to agree.

No to a lower minimum wage. No to healthcare inequality. And no to for-profit education.

MessageI don't need private schools for shock troops - I'm the minister of defence, I have my own shock troops!

MessageSuch a statement merits an investigation. Shock troops loyal to the ministry?

Random fact: Unless otherwise stated, monarchs and their royal houses will be presumed to be owned by the player who introduced the bill appointing them to their position.

Random quote: "The problem is big government. If whoever controls government can impose his way upon you, you have to fight constantly to prevent the control from being harmful. With small, limited government, it doesn't much matter who controls it, because it can't do you much harm." - Harry Browne
