MessageI question the value of Article One of this bill. It stretches the authority of the state to excessive intrusion over freedom of movement. However, I do not believe that either Article 2 or 3 encroach on the free exercise of religion. The former recognises the vast wealth of the recognised religions and how little of that actually is delivered into the hands of the needy. The latter allows the freedom to educate your child in a manner of your choosing, but enforces minimal standards: a fair balance. The Liberal Party will vote for the bill as representing generally a step in the right direction.
