Bill: Lowering of Corporate Taxes
Details
Submitted by[?]: Party of the Republic
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2090
Description[?]:
I voted yes for the lowering of corporate taxes from 20 to 5% and then realized, after the vote how much of a mistake that was. Such a drastic cut in taxes, the nation is not yet ready for. Which is why I wish to propose the first in a series of corporate tax cuts over the next 40 years in which taxes are slashed every ten years by 5%. Every ten years we'll renew the debate on the corporate tax issue. Look at the facts (Hopefully they implement an economy system by then and we'll see if this has any real effect) and view if the jobless rate decreases due to corporates being attracted by the promise of low taxes. |

Message | The Moderates would like to suggest a slightly more gradual, but similar timeline, where we cut the taxes now to 17.5%, and consider the next move in 5 years. While we don't like the idea of overcharging the people, keep in mind that even this proposed change will cut our revenue from corporate taxes by 25%. |
Date | 04:53:29, July 29, 2005 CET | From | Aldurian Communist Party | To | Debating the Lowering of Corporate Taxes |
Message | As communists, we cannot support the lowering the taxes on corporations. |
Date | 07:36:49, July 30, 2005 CET | From | Market Socialist Party | To | Debating the Lowering of Corporate Taxes |
Message | The Market Socialist Party is against Corporate Income Taxes. We believe corporations need the money to invest in the economy so that everyone can have a job. Instead we need to have a steep income tax so that there are no people living overly decadent lifestyles while there are others in poverty. |
Date | 07:58:25, August 01, 2005 CET | From | Radical Liberal Party | To | Debating the Lowering of Corporate Taxes |
Message | The Whig Party is solidly behind this bill. Corpration taxation in most cases is double taxiation, and paradoxically increases the size of the corpration. |
