Message | Family First believes government subsidies to private enterprises that are not involved in crucially important industries are not only a distortion of the market, but an unnessicary distortion of the market. Let private enterprises fend for themselves - giving too many subsidies will mar competition in the market and will allow weaker businesses that would otherwise have been eliminated by stronger competition to continue inspite of their inability to compete fairly and their overall inadequacy. Family First believes that private enterprises facing bankruptcy are, to put it plainly, facing bankruptcy for a reason - because they are not adequate enough or do not provide an adequate quality of goods or services to compete in the market against businesses that ARE adequate. Subsidies to these private enterprises will destroy the essence of market competition, and our economy will not only suffer as a result, but so will the tax payers, under the burden of having to pay taxes to a big spending government. Family First believes that the current legislation is perfectly acceptable - we believe subsidies are in order for failing industries that provide absolutely vital goods or services, simply because they are crucial for our nation, but beyond crucial industries, government handouts are a gross distortion of the market and are completely unnacceptable conduct. |

Message | OOC: Argh, misread it. I though this too was private industries that provided vital goods and services and was an alternative to nationalization. |

Message | This proposal is ideal in the eyes of the Party of Moderates. We wished we could have introduced it earlier, but we think it was just recently added to the game. We agree and support. |
