Bill: Weapons of Mass Destruction Ban
Details
Submitted by[?]: Independent Republican Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2399
Description[?]:
Currently, Lodamun law permits and supports the development of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. These weapons are all deadly and unneccessary forces of action that should only be used as a means of retaliation. Due to Lodamun's current stockpile of arms and missiles, further construction of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons is not needed. This bill halts the construction and development of these weapons for military purposes only. Research of nuclear energy and other non-combat related technology is still permited. Defense money currently used to support these weapons of mass destruction can be invested in other areas of the economy to further benefit this nation. |

Message | The Liberal Party of Lodamun is concerned that this Act will force the decommissioning of our nuclear deterrence. We have no objection to Articles 1 and 2, but feel these should be part of an international treaty, rather than a unilateral statement of disarmament. Perhaps the Foreign Minister could prepare or recommend a multilateral agreement regarding chemical and biological weaponry? |
