Bill: Act on Democratic Workers' Councils 2397

Details

Submitted by[?]: Christian Democratic Alternative

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2398

Description[?]:

The CDA believes that companies should be run by proffesionals appointed by the owners and shareholders. The CDA believes it would be detrimental for the continuing existence of companies when employees who are not familiar with the management of a company are allowed to run it through Democratic Workers' Councils. The trade unions serve the interests of the employees sufficiently.

MessageThe Right is Right Party used to take this stance, and have proposed identical bills in the past. However, we are now of the opinion that should the business owner wish to have his business run by a DWC, then the government should not stop them. Quite clearly, the business would fail as DWCs are disastrous, but the government is not here to save businesses.

MessageNo, not at all. But the government doesn't need to be there to provide jobs. The free market creates jobs, and if people look for jobs, and use a little self-esteem, they will find them. The government shouldn't be here to wrap them up in cotton wool and make everything better. A little self-realisation, and self-motivation, and everybody would be employed, providing, of course, that minimal welfare was provided. There is a job for everyone in the free market.

Random fact: Submitting a bill without any proposals in it will not attract or detract voters. It will not raise your visibility or change your political position.
