Message | Whilst we support official condemnation, we do not support the signing of a treaty. Issues such as this are not solved by treaty. Treaties are there for preventative measures, rather than to cure. This treaty would simply be a gesture, not an action. We also oppose Clause IV: "IV. All trade between signatory states and the Republic of Dranland is hereby banned. Only medical and emergency goods may be exported to Dranland." This again, would be the wrong action to take. It would not help the Welsh, and it would not hurt the government. The only people that it would hurt are the law-abiding, innocent citizens who rely on such trade. This treaty will do nothing but hurt the innocent. We urge all parties to vote against it, but stand shoulder-to-shoulder in official condemnation. That is the best course to pursue. |
