Bill: Income tax proposal of February 2401
Details
Submitted by[?]: Imperialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2401
Description[?]:
The Pansexual War Party propose to adjust the government's income tax policy to better address the economic situation of the Commonwealth of Telamon. This budget will help simplify the taxation system, by reducing the number of brackets, and thus, room for abuse. It does mean higher taxes, but these are needed to pay off the deficit, and finance necessary defence spending. |

Message | Taxes over 15% are to high for personal income, even 15% is pushing it. If you find another was to increase revenue, without tax increases then I will support. |

Message | The objections of the Republican party are insane. There is no effective way for governments to raise revenue other than taxes - unless the honourable member would like to set up a lemonade stand. Taxes over 15% are more than reasonable by international comparison. People in Hutori pay as much as 36%, while people in Davostan pay similar rates to this - their low taxes are afforded only by heavily taxing the poor, however. |

Message | Just becuase other nations have high tax rates doesn't mean that we have to follow suit. |
