Description[?]:
In order to guarantee that all peoples requiring housing are able to gain property the Government will provide sponsored housing to low income families and individuals who are unable to purchase properities by Private means. Those peoples living within these homes will be required to pay a limited contribution toward upkeep through rent, but costs will be maintained to such a position as to keep them below the cost of Private Rental Accommodation. Peoples will be allowed to continue to live in these houses until such time as they can either: a) Afford to purchase said property outright (this money will then be used to construct new Public Housing); b) Able to move to Private Rental Accommodation; c) Able to purchase Private Accommodation. Housing production will be split between three varieties: - 1/4 of housing will be single bed-room "starter" homes, - 1/2 of housing will be double bed-room small family homes, - 1/4 of housing will be three bed-room large family homes. |

Message | The intentions are good, but there is the danger of class seperation as the low income are placed into government "projects". It conjures up images of gang ridden government housing like Harlem, Bronx, and closer to my home, the projexts of Roxbury and Hyde Park. All of these are state provided government homes that are seperated from the rest of the city. Once they are in, it is difficult to get out. |

Message | We have no intention of constructing gated-communities that only allow low-income householders, rather we intend to use many of these houses merely as a stepping stone for people to move onto purchasing their own housing whilst guaranteeing that the poorest of our people are guaranteed affordable housing. |

Random fact: Moderation will not approve a Cultural Protocol request within the first 48 hours of it being requested. This is in order to give other players a chance to query the proposed changes, if they wish to do so. Moderation may be approached for advice on a proposed change, but any advice proffered should always be understood under the provisio that no final decision will be made until at least 48 hours after the request has been formally submitted for approval. |
Random quote: "Colonialism or imperialism, as the slave system of the West is called, is not something that is just confined to England or France or the United States. The interests in this country are in cahoots with the interests in France and the interests in Britain. It's one huge complex or combine, and it creates what's known not as the American power structure or the French power structure, but an international power structure. This international power structure is used to suppress the masses of dark-skinned people all over the world and exploit them of their natural resources." Malcolm X |
