| It is with good reason that I propose a greater local role in higher education. Regional governments can respond to regional needs - for instance, if one region has an auto industry, they can develop appropriate vocational training. If another reason is mostly made up of farmers, they can choose to have fewer universities (of course their students can go to other regions). This bill gives us the best of many worlds. |
