Message | They have rights to life, freedom of speech, freedom of thought and belief*, freedom from torture**, the right to healthcare and education***, In fact the only things they don't have is recognition of competence to decide on some issues. Tell me, what rights don't minors have? * Except where belief is imposed upon them by compulsory prayer, etc. ** Except when the teacher feels like it, according to current legislation. *** Except where much of Tukarali's Right wing is concerned. Ok, so perhaps it wasn't a joke. But still, we would like to know exactly where you stand - what rights do you, the RiP believe should be common to all people? |

Message | Ahh but we're still talking minors here. Let them loose on the streets at the dead of night and there'll be trouble. They are not adults yet. The rights you named are the rights I was born with. However, that doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. This bill is designed to keep kids off the streets after a certain hour. Most cities already have curfew laws. That is why I decided to submit this bill saying that the local governments can impose curfews. Notice that the words MAY IMPOSE! Doesn't mean that local governments are obligated too. They can if they want but it isn't mandatory. |

Message | "Let them loose on the streets at the dead of night and there'll be trouble." "However, that doesn't mean they can do whatever they want." Well, quite. But if they cause trouble, they can be arrested, prosecuted, and convicted. If they cause no trouble, they have the right not to be arrested unfairly. |

Message | But if they aren't on the streets, they can't get into trouble now can they? |
Date | 19:31:54, August 04, 2005 CET | From | Social Dynamist Party | To | Debating the Youth Curfew 2088 |
Message | "they can't get into trouble now can they?" They can revert to other sorts of trouble, if they're so determined. And in any case, please don't ignore legitimate questions: what rights do you, the RiP believe should be common to all people? |

Random fact: Large scale RP planning (such as wars, regional/continental conflicts, economic collapse, etc.) should be planned (as best as it can be) and should have consent of a majority of players involved. |
Random quote: "The answer to global warming is in the abolition of private property and production for human need. A socialist world would place an enormous priority on alternative energy sources. This is what ecologically-minded socialists have been exploring for quite some time now." - Louis Proyect |
