Message | What is it with you folks picking on tobacco? Yes, smoking is not advisable. But why all these tobacco laws all of a sudden? Is that the safe policy stance? Will that get you more easy votes? Certain restrictions like what? The MLP agree with prohibition on sales to youth but what are these "certain restrictions" not currently in place for consenting adults? More unenforceable, unnecessary restrictions is what this is. Stop turning this nation into a nanny/welfare state. We were fine where we were before these socialists started cropping-up and sticking their nose in individual citizen's business for the sake of the so-called "common good". Back off and let folks keep their liberty and responsibility. |

Message | That's what we're asking, too. |

Message | You know, like only a certain amount per store shopping session, taxes, etc. |

Message | So people just go to multiple stores and buy in the same day, like they do with cold medication in the U.S. Then, if the tax goes to high they steal cigarettes because tobacco is addictive. So, at worst, we'll be inconviencing smokers who will get their tobacco products one way or another. The government just feels good it's fighting smoking. Again, nice for PR but in practical terms this legislation is a joke. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically |
