Bill: Imprisonment of Timothy Uvas
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Forces of Decay
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2405
Description[?]:
The UFD ask for the imprisonment of Timothy Uvas. Uvas resists to step down as admiral of our naval forces, a position, that was never legally granted to him. Uvas betrayed the UFD earlier and now he makes trouble again. Although his military skills may be remarkable, he clearly is a dangerous person. We should show unity and closeness in war times and this unity isn't possible as long as Uvas doesn't do what the chief of our army, which is the minister of defence, (because it's his duty to manage the infrastructure of the military and we didn't decide otherwise in bills) says. If you support this bill, you call for the imprisonment of Timothy Uvas and every member of the CUP, who doesn't accept that Uvas isn't admiral anymore and takes actions against this imprisonment. |

Message | You just have to read the statements of the CUP to see that Uvas won't step down if nothing is done. He also won't cooperate with Ron Major. This is a big problem in times of war! |

Message | This is stupid and ridiculous. You can't imprison Uvas! You can't even sack him! You fail to realise Major's incompetence and blame it all on Uvas who is currently planning to break the blockade. The CUP are so offended by this that we may consider leaving the country. OOC. You'll have to arrest 10 million people then, the 10 million voters who support Uvas as well as the Navy who still back him. |

Message | The only one who is ridiculous is you. Even we don't say that everyone who votes for us is cultist. Not everyone, who voted for you, will act against the imprisonment of Timothy Uvas in this country. And we just said, that members of the CUP, of the party should get arrested, not other persons. |

Message | "You fail to realise Major's incompetence" What incompetence? There is no incompetence there. The fact is that military personnel should not be acting without the say-so of those at the very top of the tree. You have shown how unprofessional you are by resisting orders, and trying to conduct your own affairs. You keep saying that this was a life position. Show us where this was said and we may believe you. Unless an announcement was made anywhere it cannot be correct whatsoever. Not so long ago you were Head of the Royal Guard, and now we find out you are Grand Admiral, or whatever. You are making things up, and it's not right. "You'll have to arrest 10 million people then, the 10 million voters who support Uvas" Wrong. 10 million people voted for the CUP. Nobody voted for Uvas as Grand Admiral. Flawed reasoning again. |

Message | We are voting in favour of this arrest due to Uvas' wishes to override the Cabinet, without authorisation. This is a military crime and should be treated as such. |

Message | We don't see any attempt of Uvas personally to override the cabinet, only those of the CUP, and this is not punishable. They may say unproved or even wrong things about him, but this we cannot punish, especially not, if this is, as it's a highly political offense, approved by the Ministry of Justice. |

Message | I have not found evidence of a coup d'etat commited by Uvas, it looks more like a rant from RIR and UFD. Anyway, I recommend an appointment of generals by resolution in the future. |
Date | 22:07:19, May 16, 2007 CET | From | Sensible Parity | To | Debating the Imprisonment of Timothy Uvas |
Message | Mr. Timothy Uvas was made an admiral and given control over the navy. His civilian bosses asked for his resignation and he refused, embarking instead on his own military adventures. Parliament has been unable to rein him in, waffling as you are between honoring and impeaching him. While he dictates national foreign policy, you argue over whether or not he has a title. This is a classic successful military coup d'etat. |
