Message | Save the fish! Argh! Sorry, had a Greenpeace moment. Seriously, though, fishing quotas are the only way to maintain fish numbers and diversity. |

Message | No its not... If commerical fishermen want to keep fishing for profit, they will conserve or they won't have any jobs. Besides we want as little government regulation on everything. |

Message | Why is it the only way to protect diversity and species? Many organizations do raise awareness like Greenpeace. Why is it that everything needs to be regulated to protect something and the government has to do it. Well, it doesn't and government is unreliable as a liar. Like civilized people, Greenpeace should go talk to the fishermen and work it out instead of crying to the government. Government doesn't need to back this up with force. |

Message | Fishermen are all in competition with one another, and so you can't expect them all to behave in a responsible way. If there are fish there, you can guarantee someone's going to catch them, even if it does result in localised extinction, because they won't be willing to pass up the opportunity. |
