Bill: Entitlement To Free Health Care Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Gaduridos National Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2090

Description[?]:

The GNP believe that the government should do all it can to help and support its population. Therefore we believe that it is the governments duty to provide everyone with free health care.
People shouldn't have to be told that they have to pay for their health care but the person in the bed next to them gets government because they sre slightly poorer than them.
Also, looking at the figures, the health system being provided today doesn't look too good. By making the health service free, and state run, we should see an increae in the qualty of the health service we offer our people.
Although we offer financial backing for those from a poorer background, this may do more to put people off of the health service at present as they feel uncomfortable in offering 'hand-outs'.
Everyone should be on a level playing field. How can our country have unity if people are treated differently by their government? We have a responsibility to help every one of our citizens, not just the poorer ones.

MessageI agree with the NLP, this would be too expensive to implement at the current time.

MessageSurely the health of our population should be put before anything else.
Private clinics will still be able to operate alongside the public health system, and if other nations manage to provide free health care why shouldn't we?

MessageThe GNP is correct, health care is a right not a privledge, shame on those who would deny their own people the accessibility to good quality healthcare! We support.

MessageIt would not be expensive at all given the cuts made under the NLP administration, in fact it would be quite affordable.

MessageThe cost of implementing this is not what worries me. It is the restrictions of free trade. Profit provides the incentive of good care and treatment. The people who run this could care less about work and make the same income as a person who cares for there patients. The only way to make sure that they worked effectivly would be to monitor them, which would end civil liberties.

MessageNot really, if a proper system os pay incentives and pay raises based on performance reviews and years of experieince were implemented then there would be plenty of quality insuring incentives for a quality system.

MessageThe DCP says that implementing a free health system will be too expensive.
The DCP want to stop our space program as the funds could be spent elsewhere.

Anyone else see the logical solution?

MessageThe GNP makes an excellent point. Its sad that some in this Congress would rather cut the corporate tax rate by 2 percent and eliminate the space program, than give our citizens their due healthcare, something they've had for decades.

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections.
